Maybe you've heard about the beauty of Sanya for a thousand times, and have seen it a lot on the TV broadcast of Miss World Pageant show or in romantic Chinese TV dramas.

Believe me, it's a different thing to see the tropical paradise with your own eyes.

Our plane flew through the clouds and made a slightly jolting turn over the sea towards the airport. The blue sea was left behind and the green palm trees became clearly visible - We finally landed at Sanya at noon after a four-hour flight from the capital Beijing.

Sanya, the southernmost city in China, greeted us with a 32-centigrade fuggy weather in mid-April, one day before a possible visit of typhoon Neoguri.

However, when riding on a seaside road, the discomfort from the hot weather vanished. The sight of the sea, white sand, clean roads and leisurely locals and tourists relieved all the tensions and made our hearts as soft and cozy as the warm seawater.

We didn't hesitate to put on our slippers and headed to the crescent-shaped Dadonghai Bay not far from the downtown area. The beach was studded with holidaymakers. Young men and women swam in the waves lapping the seashore; parents played with their kids on the sand; children chased each other and had fun; a little girl was flying a kite; and an old local man was fishing~

Talking about his dreamed happiness, the late poet Haizi wrote the lines which are now known by nearly every educated Chinese: "To have a house facing the sea; there flowers blossom in warm spring."

Here in Sanya you can see summer flowers in more than six months of the year, making it an ideal city for your dream house. By the way, housing prices in the city have been rising since last year, and now a sea-view apartment sells for at least 8,000 yuan (about 1,100 US dollars) per square meter.
